The Halifax International Security Forum brought together military leaders and innovators to explore the military and security impacts of climate change. The chiefs of defense forces from Jamaica and the Netherlands, the Commandant of the US Coast Guard and the CEO of Canada’s Oceancluster discussed the prospect of heightened tensions over water access, the increasing number of climate refugees, the need to retrofit or move bases, and the strain that responding to severe weather has on the troops.
